Our Instructors

Sylvie

Sylvie

Sylvie's dad pushed her into her first wave at seven years old. In 2012, Sylvie was selected as an East Coast representative to attend the Roxy Championship Camp in Tofino B.C. where she was mentored by some of the world's best female surfers, including Lisa Andersen and Rosy Hodge.

Julian

Julian

Growing up surfing and sailing along the coast has led Julian into his role as a surf instructor and director in the summer months while on break from studying Marine Navigation at the Nautical Institute.

Dade

Dade

Dade is an exceptional waterman, a part time comedian and a great instructor. We love his ability to make students laugh, let down their guard and make surfing a little less intimidating.

Shawn

Shawn

Shawn’s approachable, charming, easy going attitude along side his striking resemblance to David Hasselhoff will help you feel comfortable getting in the water for the first time. Shawn has been with us since 2007!

Keith

Keith

Keith is one of the most genuinely stoked people you will ever meet. His excitement to be at the beach and teaching is obvious as soon as you meet him. He's excited to share his love and knowledge of surfing with new students.

Sam

Sam

Sam has been teaching for over 10 years and been surfing for over 15. Sam is also a driving instructor which is probably where his patience comes from. Sam has competed twice for the Canadian Jr's surf team at the World Surfing Games.

Aaron

Aaron

Aaron actually learned to surf at the East Coast Surf School 8 years ago! He's one of the best young surfers in the province and has become one of our most knowledgeable instructors. He is currently studying Bio-psych with the end goal being med school.

Bridget

Bridget

Bridget has been teaching with us for 7 years. Patient, gentle, surf stoked are a couple of things that come to mind when describing Bridget. She often shows up for work already in her wetsuit after surfing all morning.

Jill

Jill

Jill Manos is one of the best female surfers in the country. Her surf style is elegant and technically phenomenal. She spends a lot of time fine-tuning teaching techniques with EC Surf School staff.
