Surf lessons are held daily at Lawrencetown Beach, Nova Scotia near Halifax. Located 30 minutes from Halifax, Lawrencetown is Nova Scotia’s finest surf beach and a perfect spot for your first surfing lesson. Lawrencetown offers consistent waves, lifeguards, food and breath-taking views! We provide 4/3 wetsuits with your surfboard so you can take advantage of the waves all day long!

Your surfing lesson will include: a thorough explanation of the proper technique to paddle and stand up, safety and ocean awareness education, knowledge of the equipment you will be using and any other questions you can possibly come up with on surfing in Nova Scotia.  All of our instructors are certified lifeguards (female and french speaking instructors are available upon request). Take a lesson between June 15th and Oct. 1st and receive a free SBC Surf magazine.

Surf rentals are also available.

Owner/instructor Nico Manos is Nova Scotia’s first and only professional surfer. Residing near Lawrencetown beach, he has been teaching surf lessons for 8 years and is currently the Canadian Junior team coach. Manos has had recognition in mags including Surfer, Surfing, Transworld Surf, ESM and other main stream publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Mclean’s and the The Toronto Star. Nico has assembled some of the finest surf instructors on the East Coast:

-Sir Kyle Knight is a surf aficionado and wave conesieur.  When not surfing for leisure, he has spent much of the past 2 seasons instructing 100′s of beginners of all ages and skill levels on the mechanics of surfing. “Knight is one of the most patient instructors I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with…”  Q. Elizabeth Taking a methodical, friendly and inviting approach, Knights lessons have helped carve a memorable and safe experience for those willing to take on the challenge of learning to surf.

-Jill Manos- Jill has been teaching surf lessons with us for the past 5 years. Her patience and upbeat personality are a hit with women and younger people learning to surf. Wife of pro surfer Nico (owner), Jill has held her own in the past

four contests she’s entered, placing 2nd in the womens open and the womens longboarding divisions two years in a row. If you would prefer to have a female surf instructor, please let us know at the time of booking. -Ben Woodford-  Ben is an incredible surfer, one of Nova Scotia’s best.  With results in many local contests and an overall love for the ocean east coast surf school is proud to welcome him to the team for 2012.
